We study too much history and not enough prehistory. Yet the of the Odyssey of the Sapiens started when humans started cooperating to hunt and collect food adapting to a rapid mega changing environment .

For those who stayed in the Meditarranean and Near-Est , the post-glacial transition in the around 8000 BC as the last ice age receded—unlocked a rich surge of biological life The French historian Fernand Braudel detailed in his geohistorical works like The Mediterranean in the Ancient World, this environmental turning point provided an exceptional wealth of plant and animal species that readily lent themselves to domestication and early agrarian settlement."
"Modern climate change is occurring roughly 10 to 50 times faster than the natural post-ice-age warming rate." and is impacting an already "warmed" planet, drying up the soils and the biological life it sustains. "Fast" becomes acceleration in the United States where data centers truly Éare resource-ravenous. Even a mid-sized data center consumes as much water as a small town, while larger ones require up to 5 million gallons of water every day—as much as a city of 50,000 people.
Powering and cooling their rows of server stacks also takes an astonishing amount of electricity. A conventional data center—think cloud storage for your work documents or streaming videos—draws as much electricity as 10,000 to 25,000 households, according to the International Energy Agency. But a newer, AI-focused “hyperscale” data center can use as much power as 100,000 homes or more. Meta’s Hyperion data center in Louisiana, for example, is expected to draw more than twice the power of the entire city of New Orleans once completed. Another Meta data center planned in Wyoming will use more electricity than every home in the state combined."
In other words, the Sapiens does not enough time to adapt to this techno driven warming of the planet. Worse it seems that a group of "deviants" wants the acceleration of a process which look like a "cleansing" of the planet from "parasites" of an over populated planet.

"A new reconstruction of Earth’s climate history spanning 485 million years shows that the planet has experienced enormous temperature changes throughout geological time. However, researchers found that today’s human-driven warming is occurring at a much faster rate than even the fastest warming events identified in the Phanerozoic record.
The study, published in Science, reconstructed global mean surface temperatures using more than 150,000 geological data points combined with climate modeling. It found a strong relationship between atmospheric carbon dioxide and global temperature across much of this immense period. Modern greenhouse gas emissions from human activities are now rapidly increasing atmospheric CO₂, driving accelerated warming.
Earth itself has survived much warmer periods, but the extraordinary speed of modern warming creates serious challenges for ecosystems and species that have limited time to adapt. Understanding how global mean surface temperature (GMST) has varied over the past half-billion years, a time in which evolutionary patterns of flora and fauna have had such an important influence on the evolution of climate, is essential for understanding the processes driving climate over that interval. Judd et al. present a record of GMST over the past 485 million years that they constructed by combining proxy data with climate modeling (see the Perspective by Mills). They found that GMST varied over a range from 11° to 36°C, with an “apparent” climate sensitivity of ∼8°C, about two to three times what it is today."
